Melbourne Park Redevelopment Stage 3, Rod Laver Stage 2, and Completion of Stage 1 demolition works incorporated all facets of demolition. External works included the demolition of the old Indoor Courts, Function Centre, MCG Bridge. Internal demolition works were also undertaking to allow upgrade of all amenities in the L1 artist area, L2 concourse and enabling works to complete earthquake strengthening to lift cores.
More recently City Circle completed the Stage 3 Demolition works as a standalone principal contractor on behalf of Development Victoria. The site covered over 20,000sqm of working area and was completed in approximately 55 days.
The completion of Stage 1 works included the demolition and removal of existing seating, steps and enabling works to complete the bowl upgrade. The majority of the works were completed in and around live environments, in program black outs and under stringent conditions safely and in a timely manner.
